We carry out exterior painting in Sutton Coldfield for houses, bungalows and small commercial buildings. Good exterior work is about protection as much as looks, so we use coating systems designed for each surface and plan around the weather.

We paint the outside surfaces that take the brunt of rain, sun and frost, and advise on the right coating for each.
- Masonry and render, including smooth and textured finishes
- Front doors, back doors and garage doors
- Timber windows and sills
- Fascias, soffits and bargeboards
- Fences, gates and garden structures
- Seasonal planning so coatings go on in suitable conditions
Our preparation process
Exterior paint fails when it is put over dirt, algae or loose material, so preparation comes first. We clean masonry and treat green growth with a biocide where needed, then scrape away any flaking or blistered paint.
Cracks in render are opened up and filled with an exterior-grade filler. On timber, we sand back to a sound surface, fill and sand again, and treat any soft spots. Bare wood is knotted and primed, and porous or chalky masonry is sealed with a stabilising primer.
Only then do we apply the top coats, typically two coats of masonry paint or an undercoat and gloss or microporous system on woodwork, which lets timber breathe and reduces peeling.
How we protect your home
Outside, we protect paths, drives, plants and windows with sheets and masking, and agree access with you and, where relevant, your neighbours. Ladders and towers are set up safely and taken down or secured at the end of each day.
We watch the forecast closely. Paint needs dry surfaces and reasonable temperatures to cure, so we will move a day rather than risk a finish that fails. We clear up fully before we leave.

FAQ
What is the best time of year for exterior painting?
Late spring to early autumn is usually best, when surfaces are dry and temperatures are steady. We can paint at other times on dry, mild days.
How long does exterior paint last?
With proper preparation, masonry paint commonly lasts many years and woodwork somewhat less, depending on exposure. South-facing and coastal-style exposed walls weather faster.
Do you need scaffolding?
Many two-storey houses can be done with ladders and towers. Where scaffolding is safer, we will tell you and include it in the quote.
What happens if it rains?
We stop before rain affects the finish and return on the next suitable day. Our timescales allow for typical British weather.
Can you paint uPVC?
In some cases, using specialist primers and paints. We will look at the condition first and give you an honest view on whether it is worthwhile.
