Our preparation process
Decorative finishes highlight imperfections, so we prepare walls to a higher standard than usual. We fill and sand thoroughly, sometimes several times, to get a flat, even surface.
We then prime with a base suited to the finish: some techniques need a particular colour or absorbency underneath. For murals, we apply a smooth, durable base coat and mark out the design before painting.
For any finish, we test on a sample board or small area first so you can see the effect in your own light before we commit.
How we protect your home
Specialist finishes such as limewash, metallics and murals are often unforgiving, so protection matters even more. We cover floors and furniture thoroughly, mask edges and make sure surfaces are clean and dry before any finish is applied, because dust or drips can show up in a decorative coat. Some of these finishes need a longer drying time between stages, so we'll agree access with you in advance and keep the area closed off while they cure.

FAQ
How does commissioning a mural work?
We discuss your ideas, share sketches or a digital mock-up, agree changes and a price, then paint once you have signed off the design.
Are decorative finishes washable?
Most can be sealed or are durable enough for normal use. Some, like true limewash, are more delicate; we will explain the care needed.
Can you paint a nursery mural?
Yes. We use low-odour, child-safe paints and allow time for the room to air before it is used.
What is colour drenching?
Painting walls, ceiling, skirting and woodwork in the same colour, or close shades, for a cocooning, contemporary look.
Can you work around a restaurant or shop's trading hours?
Yes. We'll agree a schedule that suits your business.
